Badmaash Company (stylised as Badmaa$h Company; Hindi: बदमाश कंपनी, literally meaning "Rogue Company") is a 2010 Bollywood film directed by actor-turned-director Parmeet Sethi, produced by Aditya Chopra and starring Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chаng and Vir Das in the lead roles. The film was released on 7 May 2010 under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
Set in 1994 in middle class Bombay, Badmaash Company is the story of four ordinary youngsters, Karan (Shahid Kapoor), Bulbul (Anushka Sharma), Zing (Meiyang Chаng) and Chandu (Vir Das), who graduate from college and decide to start a "business" smuggling in foreign goods to India, thereby avoiding the heavy import taxes. Calling their venture "Friends and Company", they proceed to make a large fortune, smuggling expensive foreign goods in from Bangkok for Archie Bhai. When Karan's father suffers a heart attack and his family can't pay the bills, Karan gets an idea from Archie Bhai about shoes and seized customs goods.
Karan decides to smuggle two thousand Reebok shoes from Bangkok. They have a problem understanding the Chairman's dialect but they manage to buy him over by giving the money in advance. They send half the shoes to Calcutta and the other half to Madras. Three weeks later, Karan and Bulbul go to Calcutta to check the shipment but find only left foot shoes. After pretending to complain to the Chairman (Karan is actually talking to Zing who is also talking to Chandu who went to Madras and found only right foot shoes) Karan refuses to claim the shoes and they go to the godown. Karan then reveals that he planned to send a thousand left foot shoes to Calcutta and thousand right foot shoes to Madras. Now all the shoes will be sent to the godown where they will buy them in an auction, later selling them to Archie Bhai for 10 Lakhs.
When Karan arrives from another trip to Bangkok, he is caught by his dad putting black money away. When Karan explains the situation to his dad, including the fact he borrowed money from his rich uncle (which he said he wouldn't do) and he is doing business with a smuggler, he is forced to leave the house and live with Bulbul. Later in Cochin, Karan is found out by the same customs officer in Calcutta but they agree to give him 4% commission on a regular basis. After the government in India decides to reduce import duty on foreign packaged goods, the friends decide to go to America. After duping a top gloves dealer and vanishing, Karan becomes too greedy and the group begins to break up. Karan tells Zing that his drinking is embarrassing the group. Bulbul leaves when she finds out that Karan married another woman for a green card. Chandu marries and quits the company to start a video store.
Karan then visits India, where he secretly attends a function where his father is being honored. On his return to America, Karan is arrested and put in jail for 6 months. He realizes his mistake, when he has to pay a huge sum of money to bail himself out. Bulbul comes and gives up Chandu's, Zing's and her share from what they earned in the company. After being released from jail, Karan starts working with his uncle. He makes up with Bulbul, who is revealed to be pregnant with his child. He patches up with Zing and Chandu, while saving his uncle from a huge financial loss. At the end, "Friends and Company" becomes a public limited company, and Karan makes his father proud.
