Bred by Dr. Keith W. Zary (United States, before 2004). Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins (Wholesale) in 2005 as 'Golden Zest'. Introduced in Australia by Swane's Nursery/Swane Bros Pty Ltd in circa 2006 as 'Sweet Caitlin'. Introduced in France by Guillot/Roseraies Pierre Guillot in 2008. Shrub. Golden-yellow. Strong, anise, apricot or peach, citrus, clove, myrrh, violets fragrance. 41 to 100 petals. Average diameter 4". Large, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped, old-fashioned, quartered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Medium, upright, well-branched. Large, glossy, dark green foliage. Height of 47" to 4¼' (120 to 130 cm). USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower, garden, landscape or shrub. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
